Applied Behavioral Advancements, LLC (ABA-LLC) is expanding their McCreary County ABA Clinic. In their expanded space, ABA-LLC will provide services for community members with physical and developmental disabilities. Services include Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy, speech language pathology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. ABA-LLC first opened space in McCreary County a few years ago, though the agency has been providing services throughout the state since 2007.

Chris George, the company’s CEO and a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) himself, is elated to announce this expansion: “We are are proud to celebrate our 18 year commitment to excellent behavioral services to McCreary Co. I personally started providing in-home waiver services in McCreary in 2006, a year before I founded ABA, LLC. After many years of successful services, we decided to build a new clinic for ABA therapy to help our families transportation costs and spend more time doing family activities. In-clinic services allow for more focused skill building interventions while in-home services are more focused on parent/caregiver training. The combination of both results in the fastest acquisition of skills and positive behavioral changes.”

George notes that the expanded space at the McCreary County ABA Clinic will both improve life for the agencies’ existing clients, while also allowing ABA-LLC to build new relationships in the community, “Having a clinic in the local community allows therapy to blend more easily with the normal flow of life. Our commitment to see how we can support the whole family quickly filled our clinic on Main St, and we knew we needed to expand. We are so excited about our new space that will allow us to double the amount of families we serve for both ABA therapy and Targeted Case Management. This expansion also provides new employment opportunities for McCreary Co.”

What is Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)?

Therapists use Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to serve individuals in a variety of unique settings. ABA-LLC was initially founded with the goal of providing behavior support services through medicaid waiver services. However, as the company has grown, so has their reach. Their clinical spaces focus on private-insurance clients, usually families with children seeking early intervention services for Autism. Alongside the clinic in McCreary county, the agency operates clinics in London, Louisville, Lexington, and Somerset, which is also home to the company’s administrative headquarters.

George’s passion for the therapy’s power to improve lives is contagious: “Behavior analysis has the greatest success with a person-centered approach. This starts with the guiding belief that every individual is unique, perfect, and competent. Through observation and interviews, the BCBA seeks to identify the individual’s strengths, skills, interests, and life goals. On the flip side of that coin, the BCBA will identify skill deficits and socially inappropriate behaviors that hinder their success. Using all of the collected information, the BCBA develops a plan to strengthen their current skills and help teach new skills including functional equivalent replacement behaviors through positive reinforcement. Respect, acceptance, and encouragement ensure that every individual’s plan is as unique as they are!”

Job Opportunities at ABA-LLC

It also of note that the expanding McCreary County ABA Clinic brings fulfilling employment options to the area. The field of Applied Behavioral Analysis has experienced a boom across the nation. ABA-LLC itself is one of the first agencies of its kind in the region. Pay is competitive; entry level contractor positions with the company start at $20 an hour, over double the minimum wage in Kentucky. The agency provides opportunities for training and certification from within, with promotions as incentive. ABA-LLC strives to provide people with more than just a job, but a fulfilling, exciting career path.
