“It’s a blessing to work in this field and see people meet their full potential!” -Kellie McFarland

Meet Kellie McFarland, Senior Coordinator of Direct Support Services & Insurance Manager!

Kellie graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology before joining the ABA LLC team in 2010 as a Direct Support Professional. She was soon promoted to a supervisor role in the Louisville area and in 2020 she also took on the role of Administrative Assistant for CoachABA.

McFarland plays an invaluable role at ABA and CoachABA, handling a wide range of behind-the-scenes tasks that support clients, direct support professionals, and clinicians. Her long list of responsibilities at ABA includes meeting with guardians to prepare intake packets, requesting authorizations and checking eligibility through insurance so clients can begin and continue utilizing services, and meeting with direct support professionals and clinicians to ensure they have the training and support they need to provide services. On top of that, she maintains records, collects payments, and assists in various tasks for CoachABA.

Kellie felt called to work with people with disabilities from a young age. She remembers volunteering for the Special Olympics when she was younger and discovering how happy it made her feel to help others succeed. Kellie’s favorite part of her job is exactly that, helping clients and clinicians achieve their goals.

Kellie lives in Louisville with her husband, Jimmy, and two kids, Vance and Adyson. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her two golden doodles (lovingly referred to as “the double doodles”), cheering on her favorite athletes (her kids), attending events around the city, and making memories with her family and friends.
