“I have a passion and a heart for helping people function at their highest possible level and find enjoyment in each day.” -Amy Peterson
Meet Amy Peterson, MA, LBD, Behavioral Specialist!
Amy’s journey to becoming a Behavioral Specialist began with a “calling” to help and serve others.
Her journey began at Eastern Kentucky University where she earned an undergraduate degree with a major in psychology and minor in sociology. To expand upon her knowledge of human behavior, she went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a Master’s Degree in Special Education; Learning and Behavior Disorders.
Amy spent 8 years working for the Spencer County School System with children who engaged in challenging behaviors and then began her career as a behavioral specialist working with individuals under 21.
She joined ABA in 2020 and discovered her talent for working with adults. Amy loves that ABA encourages continual growth and ongoing learning. She helps her clients with social skills, coping skills, independent living skills, teaches them how to establish and enforce personal boundaries, follow instructions, advocate for themselves, navigate conflict and express feelings in a safe and appropriate manner, and so much more.
